Slain began as a Kickstarter campaign for Wolfbrew games.
Slain, developed by Wolfbrew Games is inspired by sidescroller games of the 1980’s and 90’s like Golden Axe, Altered Beast, and of course one of my favorites Shadow of the Beast! Over 1000 backers donated to the project on Kickstarter to bring the game to life.
Slain is a gothic, grotesque, and pixelated world where you control a warrior named Bathoryn. You take control or your hero as you hack and slash your way through tons or terrifying monsters with very gory effect. You must battle your way past enemies, puzzles, and traps before reaching one of seven towers controlled by evil overlords who rule their realm. To reach each overlord you must climb or sometimes descend each tower into a bevy of enemies, puzzles, and traps before confronting each boss fight. Fail during combat and you’ll die gruesomely. You can be mauled, disintegrated, torn apart, or squashed by monsters and hidden traps.
Slain is being developed by three people Andrew Gilmour (Naughty Dog), Asa Dang (Rockstar Games), and Nick Alfieri (Digital Distribution).
Slain will be available December 9th, 2015 for the PC, and early 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One. No price has been set.
